Oakwood Hall Refurbishment

Planning approval has been granted for the internal and external refurbishment of Oakwood Hall, an 1830s Grade 2 listed building in Northumberland.

Works included internal remodelling of the hall to form a period family home and restore it to its former glory, including restoration of the historic wine bin area, creation of a new basement cinema room and remodelling of the layout to form seven bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.

Internal works consisted of structural repairs, damp proofing, and sympathetic repairs to skirtings/cornices/lath and lime plasterwork, doors and windows.

The original oil-fired central heating and electric services were upgraded and optimised to reduce energy consumption using ground source heating and heat pump.

Externally the property received repairs to the roof and dormers, rainwater goods, ‘ashlar’ lime render and a new conservatory in keeping with the period.

The entrance to the property was remodelled to provide safer access to the highway and new automatic gates.
