We were appointed to prepare a feasibility scheme for a proposed holiday lodge development in Knitsley, County Durham. The scheme explored the potential for 17 single-storey wooden lodges, offering 2–3 bedroom accommodation for short-stay use. The concept focused on creating a well-considered site layout that responded sensitively to the rural setting while maximising views, privacy and the visitor experience. Our work included site analysis, layout options and initial design proposals to support early-stage discussions.
